Naples

Naples Florida offers exquisite sunsets, incredible shopping, excellent schools, championship golf & white sand beaches while being home to some of the most luxurious waterfront estates and condos in the world. Naples is located on the Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida.

Living

Naples is the crown jewel of Southwest Florida -- nestled on the sun drenched beaches of the Gulf of Mexico . Naples is known for world class shopping, dining and abundant, challenging golf courses. It is also, only steps away from island seclusion or the untamed tropical wilderness of The Everglades. Boasting one of the nation's best sandboxes and calmest seas, Naples makes a splash with water lovers and recreationists. Friendly parks beckon sports enthusiasts and picnickers with lovely green spaces and recreational facilities. Excellent schools and thriving communities are just a few of the reasons why Naples has become a hot spot for families relocating to Southwest Florida.

Bonita Springs offers choice opportunities for high-rise, single family home, villa or townhouse living. Whether you prefer to live in a beautiful golf course community, along the beach or bay or in a traditional neighborhood, the selections are endless!

Population

The City of Naples has 20,976 residents (year 2000 US census). Its borders are one mile wide and nine miles long, and stretch along the Gulf of Mexico. The area surrounding the city consists of unincorporated areas of Collier County. This area is also referred to as Naples, and whose residents have Naples mailing addresses.

Collier County covers a territory that is over 50 miles wide in areas. County officials estimated the population of the county in 2003 to be 290,000 (a growth of 16% since the year 2000 US census of 251,377). The overwhelming majority of the county's population resides within a short drive to the gulf.

The number of people residing in the county varies greatly throughout the year. During February and March, the population is estimated to exceed 390,000 at times. This is the most popular time of year, when winter residents and short-term visitors are in the area. The county's population is at its lowest point during the summer months.

Communties

The Naples is home to hundreds of neighborhoods, and developments for every lifestyle. A neighborhood could be use to refer to an areas such Naples Park, a community consisting primarily of single family homes where property restrictions are based on Collier County Codes. Planned Developments represent communities bound together through a master plan and associations that provide an overall look-and-feel, amenities, shared resources and property restrictions. The larger communities, such as Pelican Marsh, will have several large and separate communities within, each with their own look-and-feel, amenities and shared resources.

Climate

October through April are the best weather months in the Naples area, when daytime temperatures are in the seventies and eighties, with little rain. The months of June to September are consistently warm, humid and showery, but unlike many northern cities, it's rare for temperatures to get much above the 91-93 degree range. The all-time highest recorded temperature for Naples is 98 degrees.

In the summer, beach go-ers have warm gulf waters. Summer golfers get their pick of courses and morning tee times and can easily have an enjoyable round in before afternoon storms. Afternoon storms usually don't last long, but they can pack a lot of rain and lighting into a very short period.

Parks and Recreation

Naples offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities to keep its residents busy throughout the day from beaches and biking to fitness and fishing. There is something for everyone in Florida's paradise.

Beaches: The gulf shore beaches surrounding the Naples area consists of long expanses of fine white sand, offering spectacular Gulf views and fantastic sunsets. The sand beaches stretch over 30 miles from Ft. Myers Beach to Bonita Beach to the City of Naples. Beaches are only interrupted by the occasional pass to rivers and inland bays. It is forbidden to swim across a pass because of boat traffic, swift currents and tides in the channels.

All beach stretches are public. Designated beaches are either state, county or city parks, or areas that facilitate parking and access to the shore. Beach areas differ by their surroundings, facilities, activities and amenities. You can always bring in your own cooler, beach gear and toys with you.
